  • The Sound Works is an award winning music consultancy offering a complete music solution for all your broadcast needs. Our services include bespoke music scores, sound design, music searches/license negotiation, music supervision and composer representation.

     

    We specialise in music for the media industries, from commercials through to television and film. The entire team come from a musical background, having been touring musicians, producers, PR directors and record label execs.

     

    We pride ourselves on our client-focussed service, always going the extra mile to make sure our clients needs are exceeded.

  • We have a roster of over 50 composers and sound designers based all over the World. Because of our affiliations within the music industry, we have access to some of the best emerging talent available.

     

    This enables us to cover all genres and submit winning tracks within even the tightest time frames.

     

    Each composer works closely with The Sound Works music supervisors to ensure all our submissions are of the highest quality, on time, and within budget.

  • Thanks to our established record label/publisher contacts and years of industry knowledge, we are able to offer a music search service, as well as negotiate license agreements.

     

    As an independent company we are not restricted to one specific catalogue or any third party affiliations, unlike many of our competitors. This enables TSW to source cutting edge new tracks or instantly recognisable classics from anywhere in the world, at the most competitive rates.

Ross Gidney - Creative Director

Ross was a touring musician for over 10 years, playing drums for bands signed to labels including EMI, PIAS, and Electric Stew. He worked at several music consultancies and record labels before starting The Sound Works. He lives and breathes music and is responsible for sourcing tracks on some high profile campaigns including Citroen, BBC, Channel 4, Birds Eye, Pepsi and Max Factor.

Sie Medway-Smith - Music Supervisor

Sie is a prolific producer/mixer, starting out at Milo studios in London's east end, he worked his way up from in house engineer to freelance producer. Having worked with artists as diverse as Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, Bjork, Massive Attack and Gang of Four as well as releasing his own material. His expertise covers mixing, production, programming, arrangement and music composition.


Tammy Tinawi - Music Supervisor

With over 10 years experience in the music industry, from the UK to Ibiza, Dubai and Sydney, Tammy is most renowned for her roles in the Middle East, where as a promoter in Dubai for 7 years, she worked with brands such as Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi and the first Middle East music festival - Sound City, as well as artists such as Ian Brown, Dirty Vegas, Faithless, Goldfish and many more. She brings her passion for music and enthusiasm for the industry to The Sound Works.


Buckley - Head of Security

Buckley manages all the security here at The Sound Works. He has a very ferocious bark and likes to lick all visitors until he's sure they pose no threat. He also has a keen ear for good music and particularly enjoys glitch, dub step and minimal techno. He's not a fan of Cat Power or the Pussycat Dolls though.
